Pathway to

Balance   |   Relaxation   |   Restoration

One of my favorite sayings is “A tight mind makes a tight body". The opposite is true as well , a tight body makes a tight mind. When this level of tightness is being experienced it is difficult to regain comfort . Over the years, clients have come  to the office often experiencing self splinting, when the body takes on a self protective tightness in response to pain and is slow to release. They wonder if the muscle spasms will ever calm down. One of the first principles of restoring balance and wellness to the body is to relax, unwind the tightness to restore the body’s ability to correct itself.

Muscular Therapy is a bodywork system structured by Dr. Ben Benjamin in the 1960’s which helps to remove the obstacles of stress and tension to promote healing. Muscular therapy blends modalities of Swedish and deep tissue massage, cross fiber friction, trigger point and myofascial release. This form also integrates assessment and treatment of injuries , teaches self care and mindfulness practices.
